The Access and Privacy Branch helps provincial and local governments protect the personal information of Saskatchewan people and to respond to requests for information.

The Branch:

  • plays a leadership role on access and privacy in government;
  • provides or supports training and awareness of access and privacy within government and local authorities;
  • provides privacy and access officers in government and local authorities with tools (e.g. guidelines, checklists, etc.) to help with compliance and consistency.

Each institution has its own Freedom of Information and Privacy Coordinator to handle requests from the public.

This section explains how to obtain information from the appropriate government agency.

If you are refused access to a record or part of a record, you may ask the Information and Privacy Commissioner to review the decision.

The Act covers all government institutions, including the office of Executive Council and any department, secretariat or other similar agency of the executive government of Saskatchewan.
