The Companies Act

This Act is not available for general use and will be repealed. The original purpose of The Companies Act was to incorporate corporations. However, it was replaced by The Business Corporations Act and there have been no new incorporations since that Act came into effect on October 1, 1977. The Companies Act will be repealed when there are no longer any companies still subject to it. At present there are fewer than 10 companies incorporated under the Act.
