Resources and Tools for Government and Local Authorities

The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General provides guidelines, checklists and a variety of other resources and tools to help access and privacy officers/ coordinators and other employees understand and comply with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LAFOIP).

General

A collection of resources and tools related to overall management of access and/ or privacy within a government institution or local authority.

Access

Resources and tools specifically designed to help access and privacy officials in government and local authorities properly respond to Access to Information requests under FOIP and LAFOIP; includes flowcharts, checklists, model response letters and other useful tools.

Privacy

A collection of resources and tools designed to assist in the management of privacy within government institutions and local authorities in Saskatchewan; includes Privacy Breach Management Guidelines, privacy checklists, and other useful tools.

Security

Security is an integral component of privacy.  The following are resources and tools designed to assist government institutions and local authorities implement safeguards to protect personal information and personal health information.
